On June 24-25 2024, the Loda Lab participated in the 35th Pezcoller Symposium held in Trento (Italy). The symposium focused on "Cancer as a Systemic Disease: Interaction between Tumor and Host," a topic of critical importance in contemporary cancer research.
The Pezcoller Symposium, renowned for its contributions to the field of cancer research, is a cornerstone event that brings together leading scientists and researchers from around the world. This year's symposium was chaired by the esteemed Nobel Prize in Medicine laureate, Professor William Kaelin. His leadership and insights provided a profound backdrop for the discussions and presentations that took place over the two-day event.
Dr. Pier Vitale Nuzzo from our lab presented a poster titled "De Novo Lipogenesis Inhibition Potentiates Androgen Receptor (AR) Signaling Inhibition in Metastatic Castration-Resistant Prostate Cancer (mCRPC)." We are incredibly honored to share that Dr. Nuzzo was honored with the European Association for Cancer Research (EACR)-American Association for Cancer Research-The Mark Foundation for Cancer Research Award at the symposium. This award is a significant recognition of the innovative research being conducted by the Loda Lab team at Weill Cornell Medicine, particularly in the area of lipid metabolism in prostate cancer.
