On Saturday, February 14, 2026, the Loda Lab took part in the 3rd Annual Miami Symposium on Human Metabolism. Organized by the Desai Sethi Urology Institute (Dr. Nima Sharifi) at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and in collaboration with the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, the event gathered top experts to discuss metabolism in both health and disease.
Dr. Loda discussed current research in the lab on lipid metabolism and prostate cancer in his talk, "Fatty Acid Synthase Inhibition Clinical Studies in Prostate Cancer." During the poster session, Dr. Rodrigues, a postdoctoral associate in the lab, shared her work titled "Targeting lipid metabolic vulnerabilities in prostate cancer" and received the Travel Award to attend the meeting.
